Andhra Pradesh Bus Fire: 32 Feared Dead in Kurnool After Hyderabad–Bengaluru Highway Crash

At least 32 people are feared dead after a private bus caught fire following a collision with a motorcycle near Chinna Tekuru village in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district early Friday morning.

The bus, operated by Cauvery Travels, was traveling on the Hyderabad–Bengaluru Highway when the accident occurred. Eyewitnesses said the flames engulfed the bus within minutes, giving little time for passengers to escape.

Over 40 passengers were on board, of whom 12 managed to escape, while the rest were trapped inside the burning vehicle.

Rescue Operation Underway

Fire and rescue teams rushed to the spot and began relief operations. Officials said that while the exact death toll is yet to be officially confirmed, several charred bodies have been recovered.

CM Chandrababu Naidu Expresses Grief

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed deep sorrow over the tragic accident and extended condolences to the families of the deceased. He has directed officials to provide immediate medical aid to the injured and expedite rescue operations.

Second Major Bus Tragedy in October

This comes barely a week after 22 people were killed in a similar incident in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer–Jodhpur route, where a bus caught fire due to a suspected short circuit in its AC unit.
